PRP provides a high concentration of a wide variety of growth factors included but not limited Epidermal growth factor, Transforming growth factor-α Vascular endothelial growth factor and Platelet derived growth factor. The growth factors have a regenerative effect on damaged or injured tissue. PlasmaPro is indicated for osteoarthritis, tendinopathies as well as wound optimization.
PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood decreasing the potentiality of adverse effects.
For optimal results, PRP should be administered three times over a six-week period.
Potential side effects of PRP administration can include pain, swelling and mild erythema at the injection site. This inflammatory response is normal and usually last for up to 72 hours. This is usually controlled with ice, rest and Tylenol.
